What I decided to do was to put the old HDD back in, log into the system (tried on both Lion and El Captain) and connect to the SSD using a removable docking station. What I did notice is that it gets stuck at "Unmounting disk" and doesn't change until it errors out. I had the Format: option set as MAC OS Extended (journaled) option:ĭisk Erase failed with the error: Wiping volume data to prevent future accidental probing failed When using the Disk Utility feature, I get the following error message when selecting the Erase. I removed the old HDD and replaced it with the new SSD. I purchased a Samsung SSD EVO 850 and I'm encountering the following issue: I have a (mid 2012) Mac Book Pro and decided to upgrade the original HDD to an SSD. ![]()
